Crown & Bridge

A crown may be indicated for treatment in order to restore a tooth that is depleted in structure and strength. A crown will restore your tooth to proper function and esthetics. Your tooth is reduced in size and a crown can be fabricated using materials of porcelain, porcelain fused to metal or gold. When missing teeth are present, a bridge consisting of two or more crowns can be made to restore this area.

Our areas of expertise include Crowns & Bridges, Reconstructive Dentistry, Dentures, Implants, Esthetic Dentistry, Veneers, Bite Issues & TMD Facial Pain. We use all of our skills to create the perfect functioning smile.  When tooth loss occurs, we will expertly guide you to an esthetic and comfortable outcome.  This can be accomplished with bridges, dental implants or full or partial dentures. We will review treatment options and provide our recommendations for the best solution for you.

Reconstructive Dentistry

Disease processes such as decay, periodontal disease, tooth erosion, wear or traumatic occlusion can result in the depletion of a single tooth, multiple teeth or the loss of supporting structures in your mouth.

The seasoned expertise of one of our Prosthodontists can expertly evaluate your oral condition. Our specialized training allows us to properly assess your relationship between your teeth and muscles so that your teeth and jaws will remain in their proper orientation.

Perhaps only a single crown or restoration may be needed. Sometimes, however, you may need more extensive work. We will always provide you with a detailed explanation of your oral condition and offer you multiple treatment options as indicated.

Should an extensive reconstruction be needed, we will help you decide the best course of treatment for your situation, Restoring your mouth to its proper function can entail both a considerable financial and time commitment on your part.

Implants

In 1985, our office was the first dental office in the Twin Cities to incorporate the Branemark Implant System into our routine dental treatment.

Implants can be used for single or multiple tooth replacement. Implants can also be used to hold a denture in place. Our patients relay that their implants look and feel like their natural teeth.

We will help you oversee every step of your treatment to include the coordination of your chosen oral surgeon to ensure the specific implant placement.

We have our own dental hygienist on staff to provide expert dental cleaning and instruction of caring for your new dental implants.

Dentures

Dentures are also a form of Reconstructive Dentistry in that they will help to restore a mouth that has been damaged by an accident or by dental disease. If you are missing all of your teeth, a complete denture is fabricated. However, when an adequate number of sound and healthy teeth remain, a partial denture may be made. The remaining teeth provide support and stabilization for the partial denture. Many times, a transitional denture is made to be used before a final denture or implant-supported denture is made.

Esthetic Dentistry

Our smile is so important to us all. Of course, tooth repair isn’t always associated with tooth loss. We can help you with your smile. Smiles need to be healthy and beautiful to give you the confidence and self-esteem that you desire.

We may employ the expertise of other specialists to achieve your desired outcome. Sometimes, an Orthodontist is utilized to correct teeth position prior to our reconstructive services. We can implement bleaching, simple reshaping of your existing teeth, construct ceramic esthetic restorations or provide more complex restorations procedures for your all important smile.

Traumatic Occlusion, TMD & Facial Pain

Many times because of natural eruption, placement of teeth, a newly inserted crown, or wear; teeth no longer contact or occlude properly. Headaches, muscle tension, neck and upper back pain can be caused by teeth that do not contact each other properly. These malocclusions cause a neuromuscular response of tension that can often be treated with relatively simple corrections. With a careful diagnosis and treatment, most of these conditions can be improved.

Sometimes, the temporomandibular joint can be involved with the muscular facial pain. Many times, the reversible treatment of using an orthotic night guard can relieve the pain and pressure on the teeth and joint. After elimination of symptoms, a more defined course of treatment may be prescribed.
